Rooftop bars have sprung up like rabbit babies in the past few years in Bangkok. Each is unique and offer great views of the city. You haven't truly experienced Bangkok if you haven't visited one of its iconic or quaint rooftop bars.
In Thong Lor and Ekkamai alone, you will find some amazing rooftop bars of all size and shape. Here are five rooftop bars we recommend visiting during your stay at United Residence.
Arguably the best and fanciest rooftop bar in the area, Octave Rooftop Bar boasts 3 rooftop floors of dining and drinking starting from the 45th floor. The top floor has an uninterrupted 360-degree view of Bangkok. It is simply stunning!
Octave has a very chic ambiance and sleek décor with resident and International DJs spinning all kinds of music.
The best time to visit is at sundown for happy hour, 5 pm – 7 pm where you get half off on their unique signature cocktails.
“Stunning views and a great ambiance. Fun place with a chilled laid-back vibe, funky house tunes from the resident DJ too. Friendly staff taking care of guests on point”
If you are ever looking for a relaxing rooftop bar with laidback folks, Wanderlust Rooftop Bar should be at the top of your list. The concept is simple - a cozy, rooftop picnic garden for friends to unwind, chat and have a few drinks. It may not be a fancy high-rise, but it has a charm to it, like a hidden gem.
“Loved it cool and not your usual pretentious rooftop bar. Loved the atmosphere there.”
Both on the 8th floor of the Opus building, Bangkok Bar and Desi Beats provide unique low-rise rooftop experience. Bangkok Bar is more about chilled vibes with Thai food, live music, and some hip-hop while Desi Beats is slightly more upbeat with Indian food and music.
Either one or both, you can enjoy the view, eat delicious food and sip on drinks. Talk about two-in-one!
“nice place to hang out! tasty Indian food and great outdoor view”
Unlike other rooftop bars, KuKKuuK Yakiniku Café focuses more on food than drinks. In particular, it offers Japanese Yakiniku, which is basically grilled meat. You can either grill the food yourself or order cooked from the menu. They also offer other cuisines such as Italian, American, and Thai.
Normally, locals go here to enjoy some good food while listening to live band and sipping on beer, cocktails or pre-gaming with a bottle of spirit before moving on for the night.
“Good place. Good vibe. Good Food. Good Music”
Another low-rise rooftop bar in the area but the 722 rooftop bar feels a bit different than the usual. For one it has a pool giving it a house party vibe. They also serve a range of menu items from craft beers on tap, cocktails and comfort food such as burgers, sandwiches and other American grills.
It’s worth checking out, especially with a group of friends.
“The view is very nice. A lovely panoramic view of the skyline with no tall buildings nearby”
And there you have it. We think that they are all unique and nice to visit. So, how many rooftop bars will you check off your list during your stay?
